Like any good love story, ours began at 201 Poplar. Carlos kept wandering into Erin's courtroom while mutual friends were encouraging us to get to know each other with varying levels of subtlety and maybe a couple of orchestrated accidental run-ins. It's probably not important to go into who asked who out, but Erin definitely made the first move and only kind of hyperventilated.

Our first date was at a Memphis Redbirds game where Carlos pretended to like baseball, and Erin pretended she wasn’t sneaking off to the bathroom to text her friends updates. What nobody had to pretend was how happy we were when we were together. Within a few weeks of our first date on September 21 (yes, like the song), we were already planning a trip together to see the Grand Canyon (and yes, another baseball game.)

And every trip since has involved a baseball game, from Major to more-minor-than-we-knew-existed.

But most of all throughout our relationship, we’ve loved exploring Memphis together, hitting every site and event the city has to offer. We’re so excited to celebrate our life together with the people we love in the city where we fell in love.
